TAPEBOXING RULES
 
 
THE "DORA DIRZA"
The "Dora Dirza" or tapeboxing was developed by Indian cockers to select and test their Aseels' stamina and gameness.
 
 
THE CAC TAPEBOX RULES
 
CUTTING OF SPURS
The spurs are cut down to a length of 0.5 inch (±12.5 mm)
 
PROTECTIVE PADDING
The remaining stubs are each covered with two wads of felt each 5mm thick. These are fixed with nine wrappings of cotton cloth.
 
FIGHT DURATION
A fight is divided into a minimum of three rounds, each round lasting 20 minutes.
A bird taking part of a tournament should at least fight six bouts.
 
Since our founding, we the "Calcutta Aseel Club" each year without interruption have organized annual tapefight tournaments, till about 10 years ago, as cockfighting is now illegal in India.
