When I wake up in the morning, you're the first thing I see
My mind's eye keeps your image here for me
It shows me your eyes, your face, your smile
Keeping hope alive that you'll be with me in awhile

When I'm at work, you're right there by my side
And I speak your name, glowing with pride
You're with me throughout the entire day
Keeping me happy, driving worries away

When I hear a love song, you're listening, too
I sing the words out loud to you
With such feeling, and emotion that I cannot contain
The love just pours out onto you like the rain

When I sleep, you're the one that I lean on
Your strong shoulder is what I breathe on
Comforting me, holding me till I fall asleep
Showing me the love that runs so deep

You're with me in everything I do
Because I can't help but think of you
Your image is so vivid, so alive, and so true
And will be with me until I can be with you

Ok, here are some poems I've written, most of which have been published in the National Library of Poetry's yearly anthologies.

This is one of the earliest to be published. I wrote this at 15 years of age. I was feeling very...trapped in by my life, and just wanted to get OUT. And that's the feeling that spawned this poem.

ANOTHER

Another time, another place
And I am lost in your embrace
Another day, another hour,
I'm helpless to your loving power

Another world somewhere in space
A world where time has no place
Another world with no alarms
And I am happy in your arms

Another moon in another sky
Another sky where stars don't die
Another land with another ocean
Another rhythm, another motion

Another world with no future
Another world with no past
A world with just present,
All things here to last

Ok, this one I wrote around February, 1997. I was feeling a bit tiffed at the whole....man/woman thing in my life.

Where's My Star??

Turn on the T.V., walk down the street
Watch any movie, and who do you meet?

Lovers who've found their perfect mate
Who've kissed the fire, and tempted Fate
Who've overcome sorrow, and travelled so far
Who've wished upon the perfect star

I challenge Destina, and dance in the flame
Seek out adventure each stage of the game
Defy laws of conformity, and laws of chance
Never give "normal" a second glance

I live as intensely as I possibly can
I love as completely as a man can stand
So why does my heart bear so many scars?
Why can't I find it? Where's my star?

So many have found love, less than mine could be
Yet they have so much less to offer than me
Where's my chance to love and be loved?
Where's the man I've been dreaming of?
Where's my rock in a world so bizarre?
Where's my Destiny? Where's my star?

My Darling

The sparkle in your eyes when you look my way
The tenderness in your hands when we touch
Tell me all that your words can't convey
And are some of the reasons I love you so much

Your gentle ways, your caring smile
Your loving words, your carefree style

The care shown in the things you do
Are part of the reason that my love grew

Your deep, soulful eyes just cast a spell
And are more of the reasons that I fell

Everything about you that I've heard or seen
Makes me ecstatic to know that you love me
Everything I am, think, feel, or do
Is because I'm completely in love with you
