Here's an angry match report from Bobblehat...
This isn't my usual report on a Bees game, but is my honest opinion of what happened and why, and the following is in no way a slur on 16 year old Greg Rockham who played out of his skin. I have left this for a day or so to enable me to calm down, but it has only served to heighten the sense of anger and sheer frustration at the antics of the Bees (Mis)Management. It was known in November that Bernie needed an operation so there has been ample time to bring in a replacement - temporary or otherwise. Does keeping the fingers crossed hoping that Brian Greer wouldn't get injured show the "Professional Approach" that was shouted from the tree tops by the Bees (Mis)Management at the start of the season - I leave readers to judge that for themselves. In the meantime:
Shame on you, Bees Management, for throwing in a 16 year old and not only that but not having the guts to play someone from your own junior development teams.
Shame on you, Bees Management, for humiliating your players by showing your true feelings towards them by not providing them with a realistic netminder and giving them some sort of chance in this game.
Shame on you, Bees Management, for showing complete disregard to your team's fans by taking their money knowing that you had done nothing to ice a reputable netminder and therefore, it could be argued, had taken their money under false pretences.
Shame on you, Bees Management, for the contempt you shown to all those who have worn the Bees shirt with pride over the years. I know we don't have a glowing history (maybe not even a flicker), but all that has gone before is worth nothing if this is the way things are to be.
Someday I may find it in me to forgive and forget, but it will take a long, long time and will only be resolved for me when those responsible for the decision - or lack of it - have left the Bees.
Management? They couldn't manage a pee without wetting their shoes.
And now I'll stop beating about the bush and say what I truly feel:
{CENSORED}
Well it is a family sport after all.
