AT&T National Running Team

USCAA 2006 Nationals - July 22/23, Golden, Colorado

This site contains race results of the AT&T National Running Team for all USCAA (United States Corporate Athletics Association) National Corporate Track and Field and USCAA Marathon Championships since 1985. AT&T has competed in 22 out of 25 National events since the initial inception as the Runner's World Corporate Cup in 1978. Even in the early formative years of Corporate Running when AT&T did not send teams to the 1979,80,81 nationals, strong regional teams participated in Corporate Cup Series in Atlanta, New Jersey, Chicago and California. It was from these key regions that a powerful National team would emerge that has won a total of nine National Championships: 1982, 1983, 1985, 1987-9, 1991-3.

Two major divestitures and numerous downsizings has taken it's toll on the team. Many runners went on to seed the Lucent, USWest, Pacific Telesis and Lockheed-Martin teams. The challenge ahead is for a re-building of the team from the new AT&T and it's components. If you have former high school/college track, cross-country or road running experience, we would like to hear from you.

Team Captain, Lou Putnam, won the Men's 10K in the inaugural 1978 meet and has gone on to become the beloved AT&T captain for over twenty years. Lou was instrumental in the formation of the USCAA when the Runner's World Corporate Cup Series folded in 1984. He is the current President and past Chairman of the USCAA.
