Hiking to the Jostedal glacier in Norway - A little lake in the forest of Tongeren

I live in the beautifull village of Epe on the Veluwe in the Netherlands. The countryside landscape of the IJsel river is situated on one side of the village, and the other side is surrounded by a diverse forest and heath scenery. I like to spend my leisure time to walk and cycle through this splendid area.

On weekdays I am in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, where I do research at the university. There I stay in Weisskirchen/Oberursel, close to the mountainy Taunus area.

Leisure activities and holidays

For my holidays I like to visit countries where I can drive and hike through marvelous landscapes. For many summer vacations I went biking, with an former schoolmate, through the Belgium Ardennes, Luxemburg and parts of Germany, Switzerland and France. By car and bike we travelled around in Austria and the southern part of Norway. Among others, I made journeys through Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Southeast-Canada, Alaska-Yukon, Italy, England, Wales, Scotland and Switzerland and city-trips to San Antonio and Beijing. Photo and travel reports of some of these holidays can be found on this website.

Another hobby of me deals with computers. On the internet, I started the first Feyenoord page in 1994, which I actively maintained for ample 6 years. Since the year 2000, I only maintain my personal home page. My further leisure activities and personal interests are in diverging directions like: hiking, biking, nature, football, tennis, photography, science fiction and natural sciences.
