*After coming 12th at the Nationals (which she won in 1998) Leonid Arkayev is not hopeful of her Olympic chances. He said 'She really tries but she has a few problems. She needs to fight her weight and make a psychological breakthrough. Right now I don't see the reason to have great expectations of her. I am afraid she will not be in optimal shape for the Olympics.'
-January 2000- There has been another duel. After a internet chat Svetlana, Anna and Alina Kabayeva challenged Viktoria, Olga Roschupkina and Elena Vitrichenko to a duel. It was a draw.
-Anna recently took part in a duel meet against Svetlana Khorkina. It was a draw. Anna won vault and floor
-The Russian women had problems getting to the arena at the Worlds for the team final. Their bus was half and hour late, so they couldn't have a full warm up.
