Lawsuit
Dominique coach Lumminta Mischenko and several others had said that Dominique should be worried about what was happening to her money. Later Dimitru, Dominique's father fired Liminita. Dominique sued her parents so that she could be a legal adult. Her parents were spending her money and she didn't know what it was being spent on also her parents hadn't worked since the Olympics. Dominique hid  at her friend house and then she called a lawyer. Dominique say that her father used hit her when she put on weight and that he didn't care about as a person, he only cared about her gymnastics.

20/10/98: Dominique got a restraining order against her father.

27/10/98: Dominique's dad got a emergency court order because he was worried that she was'nt safe. Dominique, her parents and the aatorneys met and made a agreement to be submitted to the judge the day after. The meeting was four hours long and the restraining order was lifted.

28/10/98:

Dominique was declared a legal adult after her father reluctantly singned the papers.

early December: Dominique's says that her father is stalking her. Dominique coach and friend say that he tried to kill them.

10/12/98: Dominique got a lengthened protective against her parents and they aren't allowed to call or come within 500 feet of her for a year.

early January 1999: Dominiques father calls her and suggests that they meet. Dominiques says no and says that she won't take it to the police but if he does it again she will.

26/1/99: Dominique and Luminita move to Florida to train at a new gym
