As this weeks WWF Smackdown! went on air, WWF Co-owner Vince McMahon spoke on the titantron of how the nWo's actions on Raw were reprehensible. He claimed that the nWo were responsible for their own doings. He then stated that the nWo had gotten what the rightfully deserved, community service. Also they were to apologize to the WWF fans tonight.
After the Smackdown intro finished, Kurt Angle hit the ring. Kurt was absolutely irate at losing his chance to face the Undisputed champion at Wrestlemania. He challenged anyone backstage to a match. Kane answered the challenge. Angle launched an amazing attack as soon a Kane hit the ring. The match did not last long as Angle got himself disqualified for hitting Kane with a steal chair. Angle and Kane fought outside the ring. In an amazing turnaround, Kane attempted to chokeslam Kurt through the commentary table but Angle reversed, German suplexing Kane through the table twice. Angle then hammered Kane's ankle with a chair before putting Kane in the ankle lock. Angle later left the ringside area as Kane was helped backstage.
Match 1. Kane v.s Kurt Angle
Result - Kane beat Kurt Angle via disqualification
Backstage, Ric Flair & Arn Anderson were talking about what just happened to Kane when The Undertaker burst in. Undertaker once again challenged Flair to a match at Wrestlemania. Flair once again declined saying he had too much on, dealing with the nWo. The Undertaker then stated that Flair would change his mind next week on Raw.
The nWo then made their way to the ring. Hogan, Nash & Hall read very insincere apoligies. Hogan then stated that he will not apologize for what he will do to The Rock at Wrestlemania. Stone Cold Steve Austin then drove his truck to the ring and attacked the nWo with a crowbar, injuring Scott Hall's leg. The nWo scarpered backstage.
Match 2. Edge v.s Christian
Result - Edge beat Christian via submission
After this match, Christian grabbed the microphone and said he has had enough of losing his matches as of late, and that he quits.
The nWo then prepared to leave in their limo when they noticed that their tires has been let down and the word "what" had been sprayed on the side. Austin then appeared in his truck and the nWo ran back into the arena.
After the break it seemed that Hogan & Nash has lost Austin but they also lost Hall. They hid in an office and contemplated going out to look for Hall.
Somewhere else in the arena, Austin has tied Hall up was taunting him with a beer.
Match 3. Hardy Boyz & Rob Van Dam (w/ Lita) v.s Dudley Boyz & Lance Storm (w/ Stacy Keibler)
Result - Hardy Boyz & Rob Van Dam beat Dudley Boyz & Lance Storm via Rob Van Dam pinned Lance Storm.
Backstage, Ric Flair was confronted by Stephanie McMahon. Steph stated that she thought that he was unfair. She also stated that Triple H would win the Undisputed title over her dead body. She turned around to find Triple H standing behind her. The Game then said "You know what they say, life's a bitch, and then you marry one". Steph walked off in a tantrum.
Elsewhere, Austin wheeled Hall into the maintenance room. He put Hall in a spotlight and said he was using Hall as bait to get to Hogan & Nash.
Hogan & Nash then set out to look for their buddy.
Match 4. WWF Tag Team Championship Match, WWF Tag Team Champions Tazz & Spike Dudley v.s Billy & Chuck
Result - Billy & Chuck beat Tazz & Spike Dudley via Billy pinned Spike Dudley. Billy & Chuck become WWF Tag Team Champions.
Lillian Garcia then interviewed the new tag team champions but they were interrupted by the A.P.A. Faarooq & Bradshaw told Billy & Chuck to enjoy the titles, because at Wrestlemania they would loose then.
Backstage, Hogan & Nash finally found Hall but were blindsided by Austin. Austin locked Hogan & Nash in the maintenance room and wheeled Hall away.
Stephanie McMahon then headed to the ring. She once again stated the Triple H would never win the Undisputed title. Before she could finish, Chris Jericho made his way to the ring. He said that he never really meant all the things he used to say about Steph. He was just trying to get a rise out of the fans. Y2J then said that he thought Stephanie was brilliant and that Triple H was nothing without her. Stephanie then offered her services to Jericho saying that she knew Triple H's weaknesses. Jericho accepted and the two became business partners.
Triple H then made his way to the ring for his match with the Undertaker. Jericho & Steph sat at ringside with Michael Cole & The King. As The Game walked past Y2J & Steph, he spat water in their faces. Jericho then got up and attacked Triple H. The two fought into the ring and were followed by Stephanie. Triple H knocked Jericho to the mat and Steph proceeded to slap her husband across the face. Triple H then grabbed his wife and attempted to pedigree her. Jericho came to her aid. The Undertaker then made his way to the ring. As he climbed onto the apron, Triple H punched him off the ring. The Undertaker then jumped on his bike and left.
Backstage Austin threw Hall in the back of his truck and headed to the ring. Austin then threw Hall into the ring. He pounded on Hall, offered him some beer, pounded on him, offered him some more beer and hit Hall with the Stone Cold Stunner. Austin then gave Hall a taste of his own medicine by spraying 3:16 on Hall's back as Smackdown went off the air.
