The Vic-Greyhounds.com Rating Method
This method is very simple to
apply and assesses Speed using the Track Record as a measure of Class.
It is very useful in giving dogs a rating figure from runs taken from different
tracks and distances.
(Top
Rating Pick Strike Rate 28% with an average Win Dividend of $3.65)
THE VALUES USED
1. An Output Rating
Value of 50 points is used.
2. Track Records* for particular Track Distance is used.
3. Race Time is used.
4. 1 Length = 0.066 sec time is used for Margins.
5. A Value of 1.5 Ratings Points is used for 1 length
THE QUICK RATING FORMULA
The Formula is: 50+[{(TrackRecord - Race Time)/0.066} - Beaten Lengths] *1.55
Formula Legend:

EXAMPLE OF USE
Race of 1st Dog Assessed :
Race Time at Traralgon 513m was 30.03 seconds beaten by 2 lengths.
Traralgon 513m Track Record 29.66s.
Rating Formula =
50+(((29.66-30.03)/0.066)-2)*1.5
Dog Rating = 38.59 Points
Race of 2nd Dog Assessed : Race Time
at Geelong 457m 25.98 Won the Race (0 lengths).Geelong 457m Track Record 25.34s
Ratings Formula = 50+(((25.34-25.98)/0.066)-0)*1.5
Dog Rating = 35.45 Points
So with a Rating Points difference
of 38.59-35.45 = 3.14, we can conclude from the Key Runs assessed
that there is a 3 point difference and with 1.5 points being equal to 1 length
then
Dog 1 is rated 2 Lengths superior on speed than dog 2.
