Rangers' former All White custodian Alan Stroud has celebrated his 40th birthday by scoring a goal against Christchurch City.
Stroud, whose illustrious career has been spent stopping goals, left his own goal area to convert from the penalty spot in the dying minutes of the Federation Six premier league soccer match at Garrick Park on Saturday.
It provided the final polish in a convincing 3-0 win which confirmed Rangers as the second-place team in the league. Stroud turned 40 last week. Mike Harvey and Andrew Ellis were the other two Rangers goal-scorers.
