Mission Statement


It is the mission of the Albany High School Physical Education Department to develop students into well rounded individuals who are skilled both mentally and physically. Upon completion of the Physical Education requirement students should (1) be physically fit cardiovascularly, (2) possess a high level of physical skills and dexterity in numerous areas both in large and small muscle activities, (3) possess individual emotional abilities to handle success and failure within ones own mental capacity, (4) possess the ability to work within large social groupings and be able to participate with others toward achieving success and dealing with failures.
   Finally, students should experience a great deal of Fun. and be able to choose a specific area of interest in which they may, later in life, wish to continue development in order to maintain a physically healthy lifestyle
