Greg was the boy next door who made good. The world could use more boys next door. Although his death is more tangible now, he and his family still occupy so many of my waking thoughts. I dread the Vancouver Indy next Labour Day; it will be so empty. It's comforting to know my grief is shared. I can't even express my grief for the loss of Greg Moore. Greg to me was the perfect racer, I know he would have been a CART champion. I know he died doing what he loved, but my sadness continues every day. he will be missed!!

Greg had a smile that could light up a room. He was a good person on the race track and off. I had watched him from the time he was a wide eyed rookie to his very last race. Greg was the one guy I always wanted to see win. The look he got on his face when he won was magic. I love auto racing but on October 31 a part of my heart and my love for racing died with Greg. He will always be alive in the memories of his family, friends and fans. Greg I loved you, and may you be racing with the angels now.

It's hard to say farewell to someone who I had looked up to throughout the years. From the first race I watched in Long Beach '96 I knew that Greg Moore would be a championship. Though he never got the chance to, he did win all of our hearts.

When I heard about Greg Moore on the news I cried. We heard it on the news cause we were out of town. I knew there was a race that weekend and I was listening to what happened. He was an exceptional human being, I didn't know him personally but through racing I grew to know him. He will be so very missed. He was so young. I hear about him still this day and I cry. I (Andy) met Greg at a test session in Phoenix in February. He took time to talk about both our race plans for England in 1999, he was a true young gentleman an enthusiast. We were on turn one at California Speedway on a trip to celebrate David's Ford Fiesta TOCA Champion here in England. We had visited Forsythe Racing but Ger was not available because of the work on his hand. A brave racer who will be sorely missed.

I watched Greg race for a long time. Every week he did something new. He never gave up no matter what happened. I never had the chance to meet Greg. I wish that I would of had the chance to meet him. He was always full of life and seemed to always be in a good mood. Racing not only lost a great driver, but they lost a great friend. I never heard a bad word said about Greg. I truly understand why everybody got along with him. Racing lost a true champion and friend when they lost Greg Moore. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers. The one thing I'll remember Greg for is that spectacular move he put on Alex Zanardi during the race at Rio in '98, that little "Get Zanardi While The Lap Car Gives Him Trouble" move. I'll miss Greg, but at least I know he's in a better place. I miss you Greg!

I pass by Greg's hometown every day. It feels so empty knowing that I use to listen or read in the newspapers that he is racing here or there. I followed Gregs rise in the indy scene. He was my favourite driver and i am so deeply upset to hear of his premature death. I saw Greg at Surfers Paradise many times and it was always a joy watching him in various battles with other drivers on the track. I had the pleasure of seeing Greg Moore race at Surfer's in 98.Watching Greg throw his trademark blue car around the circuit with controlled aggression was an awesome sight.He was a good man,a man who had found his calling,as a racing driver.Greg was made of the right stuff,and had the potential to be a future world champion,it's so tragic that he will not be able to realise that dream.The Cart series will just not be the same without Greg Moore.I believe that now is the time for the sports governing body to review the safety modifications of both the circuits and the cars.The FIA(F1)clamped down on safety along with the GPDA(Grand prix drivers association)after the fatal accidents of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger at Imola in 94.There has'nt been a death since.The Cart officials must take the same action,NOW.I know that motor racing will never be safe,but at least take every measure available to make it safer.I,for one,believe the oval circuits to be death traps,as they provide no run off area's on the high side.I could elaborate further but i don't want to take up too much room.My final word is,Greg,thanks for the memories,you will always have a place in our hearts,rest easy pal.

I met Greg twice at Nazareth. The first time he was a rookie and I remeber him asking all of the kids in the pits if they were having a good time. The last time was two years ago and he signed my program. I told him to kick some ass, and he said he would. He almost won the race. Although I never knew Greg personally, he touched my life as well as my fiancee's. We had the opportunity to shake hands with him at Indy Vancouver, and at the time my leg was in a brace as I had had knee surgery. Greg was very pleasant about giving us n autograph and taking a photo, and really surprised me, when he motioned to Dan before the picture. Then they both crossed their arms into a chairpicked me up, and after the picture instead of just saying goodbye and getting back to things, he offered t help Dan carry me to a place to rest. He would not take no for an answer, and that was so thoughtful. Her I was, a stranger seeking an autograph, and Greg Moore, Indy Driver was carrying me around. When we reached a bench in the shade and they put me down, Greg shook both our hands, and I thanked him again. He said it was nothing, take care, and left. But it was something. It was unselfish and pure kindness that you don't see much these da s. The most amazing part, was that we ran in to him at the race the next year, and he remembered!! He asked how the knee was. I could not believe that after a year he remembered a stranger among what must have been the thousands that he met each year, a d not only that, he took the time to talk to us. That is something that I will never forget!!! I still have the brace he signed, although it got a bit trashed as I wore it 3 weeks after tthat day. Besides being a champion class 1 driver, Greg Moore was a class A gentlemnan, a kind human being, an a caring soul. All of these qualities made him the man that so many admired, and will continue to remember. We will miss you Greg. Tracy & Dan
