We're Still Here
We're Still Here
In Memory of the victims of 11 September, 2001

Though many have been taken from us in senseless acts of abject cowardice, we are still here and we are strong. But my heart bleeds for every victim and we will remember.

Usually, I love making web pages, but I wish I did not have the horrible reason for making this one.

God bless the suffering
Blessed be
In deepest sympathy

Please heed that some people take advantage of the worst tragedy. There are those who solicit, either over the phone or via email, pretending to collect for the victims of this horrible disaster. Use your instincts, and don't donate to everyone who might ask. If uncertain, visit the sites I linked to below under the heading "Donate". These are bonafide charity organizations.

Personal Tributes

In the past week, we have seen the American people at their very best everywhere in America. Citizens have come together to pray, to give blood, to fly our country's flag. Americans are coming together to share their grief and gain strength from one another. Great tragedy has come to us, and we are meeting it with the best that is in our country, with courage and concern for others. Because this is America. This is who we are. This is what our enemies hate and have attacked. And this is why we will prevail.
--President George W. Bush
Weekly Radio Address - September 15, 2001

Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country, and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance: "Under God." Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said that is a prayer, and that would be eliminated from schools, too?
--Red Skelton (1913-1997)

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty.
--John F. Kennedy (1917-1963)

I have seen life as it is,
but I will not forget what it can be, will be,
must be. . .
. . .and it must be better than
the spread of hate,
than
the self-terrified spreading his poison of terror.
I think words fail, but
we are still here
we will not go away
--Sigi
