Most embarrassing moment:  Those early years as a King

Robbie joined the Kings in the summer of 1984 when he was recruited by Kings general manager, Nick Cormier, from the Jim Scott-led Oilers franchise.  Turning down much more lucrative offers from other teams, Carter opted for the Kings because it afforded him the opportunity to get unlimited playing time and a regular spot on the power play.  However, there has long been a rumor that the real reason he wanted to play for the Kings was he knew those sexy purple uniforms would look dynamite with those baseball/bicycle pants that he wore into the ground.

Rob will be remembered for his many fine contributions during his fifteen years as a team member including: being moody, his insistence on being begged to play every season, being Joe’s right hand man (make your own joke), dating Kelly, Lisa Mancini, Nancy and then there is Natalie (who Joe claims Rob wants but will never have), being Joe’s best man (twice), fighting Steve Vellieux, being the only King caught on video tackling an opponent, running hockey world and being the star of the greatest game of the most important championship in team history when he top shelfed Scott “goose” Dumond in double overtime to beat the always annoying Franks Willow Inn team.

Many of the things Rob would like to forget include: the quick demise of his APBA baseball team that went from first to last in one season, that he was forced to play street hockey back in 1978 with such “legends” as Joe Morrissey, John Bouffard, Chris Durfee, the Kahls and Brian Goldstein, that he once broke Rob Sieglers arm with a shovel after a street hockey game (Hey didn’t rat do that too?), that he was ever featured in player spotlight, and the little known fact that he once dated Stacey before Joe and brought her a rose when then went to the movies on their first date.

Rob hopes the future will bring: more time to hermit in his house where no one will hear or see him for months on end, that he locate Jason Villa who if he is not missing at this time but will be by tomorrow, that his mom will continue to buy him Coke collectibles, that he never be pestered by T.F. again about playing dek, that Joe not divulge any more info on him and that America Online finally cures his on-going email and Instant Message problems.
