Peoria Frisbee Club

Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Driving Time: about 90 minutes
Directions: I-80 west to I-380 north to Cedar Rapids
Courses: Jones Park, Marion, and Shaver
Jones Park: 18 holes, Relatively open, but hilly park with lots of different angles at the pins. Need to have a wide variety of shots to shoot well. Good variety of short and long holes with a couple of ace runs. One hole plays 700+ down a huge hill.
Marion: 18 holes, shorter than Jones but more accuracy off the tee is needed. Drop offs of 100+ feet welcome you on a couple of holes. Fantastic views of the neighboring scenary. One gate was closed, when we played, so we had to walk back to find the course. The first seven holes are flat, while the rest wind themselves through the woods.
Shaver: new course, have yet to play. Am told that there are lots of trees

Chicago, IL
Driving Time: two hours plus
Courses: Numerous, heres information on those I've played:
Directions: Illinois Course Directory
My Comments: Played Channahon Community Park and Joliet West Park March 13+14, 1999
Channahon: 18 holes, open course and windy, but I'm told narrows in the spring, cut fairways with wild grass marking OB. Not as busy as some other courses. Only played 12, and lost a disc in the snow :(
West Park: 18 holes, prepare to hit some trees! Birdie opportunities, but also some tough pin placements. Shot 59, and was pleased. Great course, and am told prepare to wait in the summer. About 20 people on the course while we were there
