John Lennon was the founding member of the Beatles. Along with Paul McCartney he changed the way music was heard and seen. Tragically he lost his life on Dec. 8 1980 at the age of 40 when a deranged fan shot him outside his New York Apartment. |

| Although given many opportunities to get the band back together the three remaining Beatles never performed live together again after the band dissolved. They did however release a anthology album in1996 featuring unreleased material from John Lennon's collection. This was the first time all four Beatles appeared on a new song since 1969 |  |
| Ringo Starr was very active in touring after the breakup. With a little help from his friends he formed several All Starr bands and continues to tour today performing his own material as well as Beatle tunes. |  |
