A game I actually watched in Tenerife in the Planet Football bar, Playa Los Americas and a unique atmosphere with Chelsea fans and Leicester fans all in fine voice and the pints of Dorada flowing and Frank the govenor, a Everton fan and a great host quite clearly was enjoying the banter too, the game never let my expectations down.
The game was always going to be a very physical game and a typical FA Cup match, both teams being really up for it.
The game set off with Leicester comanding most of the possetion in midfield but Chelsea were soon into their stride.
Poyet went very close with a header that thumped the crossbar and followed with a Sutton freekick that went just wide.
The partnership between Weah and Sutton seemed to be clicking and at last Sutton was showing the form which we expected from our £10 Million signing.
The breaktrough came on the 35th minute when a deep cross found Weah who somehow managed to head the ball back into the box to find Gus, and his scissors kick shot fired into the back of the Leicester net.
The bar I was in erupted, the Leicester fans silenced, this was pay-back time for sure.
The game took a ugly twist and referee Poll looked to be in yellow card heaven, a 1-0 scoreline at the break I think was well deserved.
The 2nd half started at a ferocious pace and 3 minutes into the 2nd period Chelsea went into a 2-0 lead when Sutton pulled away down the left and controversialy you may say appeared to pull the shirt of the Leicester defender and pull him back, but his power had really in truth left his marker with no chance and a fine pull back found Weah inside the box and a first time shot from Weah thundered into the back of the net, the bar erupted, Stamford Bridge did too from what I witnessed.
It was finally pay back time for the Leicester bastards and finally shut up that majorette on Amphetimes Martin O'Neill who appeared yet again to be needing a straight jacket on the sidelines.
Leicester took the decision of the ref badly and they felt that Sutton had fouled the defender and the game got nastier and nastier with more names going into Polls book.
Following a freekick Walsh appeared to elbow Sutton in the throat and referee Poll after speaking with the linesman had no alternative but to send the fat bastard off.
With Leicester down to 10 men Chelsea looked to be cruising until Dennis Wise saw red mist and handled the ball, and being booked earlier Poll quickly branished the red card, , a stupid thing to do and he will be banned for the quarter-final.
On 90 minutes Elliott scored a consolation goal for the scum from the Midlands but it was too late, and we were through to the Quarter-Finals.
It was left to a war of words at the post-mortem after the game between Martin O'Neill and Ken Bates to add extra spice to the game, and surely Leicester City will forever hate us
Who says the season is over with Sutton and Weah partnership beginning to blossom
"Its only just began"
"WE WILL FOLLOW THE CHELSEA, OVER LAND AND SEA(AND LEICESTER) WE WILL FOLLOW THE CHELSEA ONTO VICTORY" (ALL TOGETHER NOW)
