MATCH REPORT |
|
|
If you said that Chelsea could not battle you would be wrong, as Chelsea proved all their critics wrong with a battling display at Highfield Road.
Chelsea without the suspended Leboeuf fielded for the first time the combination of "The Rock and The wall" alias Marcel Desailly and Emerson Thome and the they looked a good partnership.
The first half saw a battling display by both teams but to be honest both teams gave little room in midfield and a clean sheet at halftime was a fair result, with Chelsea showing that they meant to win the match.
You sensed goals would come and in the second half that thought became reality when Coventry went into the lead with a goal by Rousell.
Chelsea restarting the game quickly got the ball up to Zola and with a jinking run twisting and turning Coventry's defence found Flo who blasted the ball in on 55 minutes.
At that stage we could not believe that we could score straight after conceing a goal so quick and would have settled for the point, but Coventry looked to have sealed all 3 points When Keane in the 82 minute put the Midlands tem back in front.
Could we pick uo ourselfs up from this sickening blow, you bet we could straight from the kick off it was Flo again to bring us back level with a brilliant invidual goal lobbing tha ball over the Goalkeeper to give us the point we deserved.
Tore Andre Flo is becoming a lethal striker for sure.
On reflection a point was about right for us and we never played that well but on the negative side Babayaro gave tha ball away too easily and Deschamps seems to struggle with the pace of the Premiership.
Well the season is not over yet
