MATCH REPORT
Was it great to be back, "You Bet" we arrived at Kingstonian early to catch a glimpse of the players, however were slighty dissapointed that only Chris Sutton attended the match to represent our new signings.

He arrived in a big silver mercedes and was quickly pounced on by press and supporters, the rest of the team looking relaxed.

The team Vialli picked had a new/old fill to it, seeing Albert Ferrer in the back four with youngsters John Harley and John Terry and Luca Percassi

The first half we created many chances, with Flo, Forssell and Wolleaston all going close, for me the combination of Forssell and Flo did not work and I think Vialli realised that in the 2nd half when he had a change around.

It was at halftime that the real fun began when Zola stayed on the pitch to warm up with Antonio Pintus when he was suddenly besieged by hundreds of children who had invaded the pitch to get his autograph , it was so funny to see some of the children were actually taller than him .

After the fun of halftime a huge cheer went up when we finally saw our idol Zola kick off the 2nd half and he was in absolutely irresistable form turning Defenders this way and that way from the very start of the 2nd half.

His first touch was out of this world and everytime he brought the ball down dead he was cheered, never seen anybody who can bring a ball so quickly under control, this little man justs gets better and better.

His goal came from a brilliant through ball by Jody Morris who had a solid game marshalling the midfield and was appointed captain when Wisey went off.

The second goal came on 62 minutes when Della Bona the Italian wizzkid who surely is a natural replacement for Gus drifted into the box unmarked to finish with a right footed thunderbolt.

Chelsea continued to pressure and Forsssell had a blockbuster just shave the crossbar.

With some 15 minutes remaining Forssell latched onto a through ball and his pace saw him round the Kingstonian centre backs to rifle home a sweet strike into the corner of the net.

The weather being so hot, all the players looked physically exausted at the end, and I must give special praise to John Harley who I thought had a good game, but for me the "little Sardinian" was worth the £8 admmission just to see him yet again in scintilating form.

Were off to Crete for our holidays

but one thing will be on our mind out there

"Roll on the new season"
