Banksy Report

Mario has a complicated fracture in hios foot which has had to be repaired surgically.

The surgery was done in Holland , the operation went well and should be out of plaster in about 3 weeks when he will take up fulll training, the normal  lay-off for this type of injury is usually about 3 months so he is doing ok.

Mario is due to have another x-ray on his foot and if it shows that the fracture is completly healed, he will start his Pre-Season training

September 28th 1999

Mario's X-Rays look good and he is due to start running in a weeks time.

He is going to start from the very beginning and it should take about a month before he is able to join the squad.

This may be held back by the condition of the leg after a period of immobility, but all being well he should be back within a month.

October 13th 1999

Mario has at last started pre-season training, his training will be stepped up over the next 3 weeks.

Following that he should get a game in the reserves.

October 23rd 1999

Mario is progressing well but he has had a little trouble with his Achilles which has slowed his progress down a bit, he should be ready to make his playing debut in about 5 weeks

November 24th 1999

Mario suffered a twisted ankle at a reserve game at Leicester he is going to need a few reserve outings before he is ready for first team action.

December 19th 1999

Mario has injured his foot again during his comeback.

It appears that a screw fixing the bone has come loose and he has developed another small crack in the bone.

He has had to have surgery all over again ,and does not look likely to return to 1st team action until the end of March.

The fractures are very similar to the ones Baba had, so its a very frustrating time for the Dutchman.

December 29th 1999

Mario is back in plaster but he will keep training his upper body while his foot continues to heal .

He is doing the early part of his rehabilitation in Holland and he will be able to do the main stuff when out of plaster and joins up with the team
