MATCH REPORT

What can I say about this disgracefull performance by Chelsea.
Well for starters Desailly had a complete nightmare as did Jes Hogh and quite clearly could not handle the pace of Quinn or Phillips upfront and Desailly was rightly taken off at halftime.

Sunderland done exactly what every other team does to us and that is to press us back into our own half, giving us no time to play our passing game, and my hat is off to Sunderland who carried out a comprehensive demolition job on us.

Vialli chose to leave Petrescu on th bench which was quite a shock and with Ferrer not being included due to flu, as well as Sutton for the same complaint and with the addition of Di Matteo not being available due to his girlfriend who went into labour  was the writing on the wall?

I thought the only players out there who were up for it in the first half were Gus and  John Harley, the rest in my opinion should of stayed indoors.

Big questions have to be asked of our Defence especially Lambourde and Desailly who gifted all the goals to Sunderland, they were led a merry dance by Kevin Phillips who was in inspirational form.

The second half at least saw Chelsea improve on the terrible first half and subs Wolleaston and Terry coming on in the second half inspired a mini revival but to be honest Sunderland by that time had taken their feet firmly off the peddle.

The only pleasing things from a Chelsea point of view was the display of Ed who kept out certain goals by Phillips who could have ended up with 6 goals to his credit, and Gustavo Poyet's equaliser.

A special mention to the travelling blue army some 1, 500 who braved the freezing cold conditons
who quite clearly could be heard singing aloud on Capital gold radio, and one such song brought a smile in my deepest despair was:

"CAN YOU FEEL YOUR FROZEN TOES"
Something to brighten up a gloomy day I thought.

Well thats the end of our Premiership hopes for this season

Is this the final
Viva Vialli ?
