Gianluca Vialli believes he faces the sack as manager of Premiership title challenger Chelsea..
Chelsea are fifth in the Premiership with 2 games in hand on leaders Manchester United -but Vialli has held fire on new contract talks because he feels results in Europe will determine his future he said last night " i'd be a failure if we did'nt qualify for the Champions League knockout stage , I've got to get results"
"It would be a failure because we have got enough potential to go through , it would mean I have done something wrong"
"There has been no contract talks yet, I've got this year and another year, so there is plenty of time to see how things go . Anyway , I think it's fair to say that if I get results I deseve to stay, if I dont I deserve to be sacked"
"There will be time to sit down and look at the situation and decide what is best for the team "
Vialli has said that he wants to extend his current deal and Chelsea chairman Ken Bates has insisted the Italian will be staying but Vialli added "The last trophy I brought was the Super Cup more than a year ago , there are two ways of looking at things . First , how much silverware you bring in and secondly, the overall work you do, how the club develops, but that's not my call, that's not my decision."
