ORPG stall at Dannevirke Hobby Expo

1-2 September 2001

Doug at work in our stall at the Dannevirke Sports Centre on 2 September 2001. Note the 'relocated' sign from the station's wall. The event was organised by the Dannevirke Model Railway Club and included a wide variety of model railways from throughout the region. Other hobbies represented included genealogy, wool spinning/weaving/knitting etc., book sales, and assorted other items. There was also a display on the Hawkes Bay Steam Society's little steam loco - which a number of our members are involved with. (I think its called a Barclay and its number is 531 - and doubtless someone will confirm that in due course.)

Our 'high tech' stall extended to Doug's videos screened throughout the weekend.

Our interactive display included test drives on the jigger - albeit that these were very short trips. Here we helped our guest (complete with railway cap contributed for effect by Doug) achieve the final of five goals she had. This was to ride on a jigger. Others she had previously achieved included flying in a helicopter, a balloon and a Tigermoth.
