A.B.C., W.I.B.C.and YABA league rules shall apply except as amended herein.
The management of the league shall be vested in the Board of Directors, which shall consist of the Executive Board (President, Vice President, Secretary/ Treasurer) and Team Captains.
Paradyne employees, contractors, their significant others, including experienced YABA bowlers, spouses, fiancée, adult family members, boy- or girlfriends and friends. Exceptions are to be reviewed by the league’s Board of Directors.
New players or substitutes cannot be added to a team in the final 2 weeks of the schedule, including fun night, without the approval of the Board of Directors.
Each bowler will pay the bowling fee of $ 11.00, for adults and $8.50 for youths per night. This fee will include the lane charge of $ 7.55 for adults and $4.98 for youths Secretary/Treasurer’s fee of $.30per bowler per night, and the remaining balance for expenses, banquets and trophies. The league fees may be reduced if we receive funding from Paradyne Corporation. It is the team Captain’s responsibilities to insure that the total amount due from his/her team is delivered to the League’s Treasurer before the start of the 2nd game each night.
Unless a bowler arranges for the weekly fee to be paid by the substitute, he/she is responsible for the fee each night. If the substitute does not wish to, nor qualify for, an award, substitutes shall pay only $7.55 for adults and $4.98 for youths, the lineage amount required by Seminole Lanes.
Each member before the completion of the fifth week of bowling shall pay bowling fees for the last week of bowling.
The Secretary/Treasurer fee is $.30 per bowler per night. The secretary’s fee will be paid only after all league obligations have been completed. They are:
1. Average sheet turned in to the ABC/WIBC/YABA and a copy to the president.
2. Distribution of all prize money.
3. All awards have been distributed, both individual and ABC/WIBC/YABA.
4. All sanction money must be sent into ABC/WIBC/YABA.
5. All sanction cards distributed.
6. Final standings & individual average sheets distributed.
7. Any other league requirements that may arise.
The Secretary’s fee will be held in a money order until completion.
Any bowler more than 2 (two) weeks in arrears will automatically be dropped, except in the case of emergencies approved by the League Officers. The removed bowler is still responsible for payment of all back fees. Bowlers cannot be more than one week in arrears.
An account will be kept in the name of the league at Seminole Lanes. All deposits for each week will be made at Seminole Lanes on the same night as bowled, including sanction fees. Two officers must sign for all withdrawal. The president shall verify the balance at least once each month.
The blind score shall be 130 with an 85-pin handicap.
Bowlers will have a handicap computed after their first complete three game series. This handicap will be applied to the games in that series. Individual handicaps are figured on 95% of the difference between the bowler’s average and 220 base score. No maximum handicap.
Tardy players shall be permitted to start any game provided they start before the completion of the 4th frame. Bowlers not entering the game by the fourth frame cannot bowl the remainder of that game for practice.
To avoid a forfeit of any game, a minimum of two members from the team’s roster must be ready to bowl by the end of the third frame. This does/does not include substitutes. A substitute is defined as a player that is not listed on the team's roster.
A team’s current roster can be made up of any combination of six (6) bowlers, men, women or youths.
The use of league substitutes is encouraged. If a substitute is not used, the absent bowler’s average minus ten (10) pins will be used in scoring each game. If a team has more than four members, The absentee score will be used on the player average with the most games bowled. If there is a tie the highest of the averages will be used. In either case, the full fee must be paid each night because the bowling establishment must be paid as if the full compliment of bowlers were present.
The use of substitutes is encouraged instead of pre-bowling. Any team that is requesting a pre-bowl must notify the opposing team, preferably the captain and get approval from a league officer at least 24 hours in advance. This is so arrangements can be made with the bowling establishment before the next regular schedule session. An individual wishing to pre-bowl must notify only a league officer. Seminole Lanes will witness all pre-bowled games. All score correction during the three pre-bowled games must be done by the control desk only. Post bowling is not allowed
The president shall appoint a committee of three members to head up the prize and banquet committee. The prizes should include High Series and High Game (both handicap and scratch) for both male and female.
This year's committee is:
Holly Vernon
Gerrie White
Nancy Plants
POINT SYSTEM
Standings shall be determined on a point basis, with two points for each game won and 1 points for series, this includes handicap. The winner will be determined by the total points at the end of the session. In case of ties for other than first place, total pins will be used.
First place ties at the end of the season will be settled by a one game roll-off on a pair of lanes that were not bowled on by either team. Total pins with handicap of the roll-off to determine the winner. If there are more than two teams tied, each team will be assigned a pair of lanes and will bowl one game. Final standings will be determined by total pins with handicap. The playoff will follow immediately after position round on the same night.
Practice will not be permitted on the same pair of lanes that a bowlers is scheduled on that night after Seminole Lanes has conditioned the lanes, which is approximately after 4:30 PM. Penalty will be forfeiture of individual's scores for that night.
To qualify for individual awards, bowlers and substitutes must have bowled in two-thirds of the scheduled games (18 games). No bowler may receive more than one league individual award for high series or high game, both scratch and handicap. Any substitutes can qualify for any awards if they pay the full fee each night they bowled and have the minimum number of games required. Team trophies will be awarded to first, second, and third places.
"Most Improved" will not receive a trophy, but will get an A.B.C., W.I.B.C. and YABA award. The base average as of 9th game will be used. A bowler must have bowled the minimum number of games to qualify.
Returned checks will have a fee equal to the fee charged by the bank used by the league.
When a team bowls against a bye or forfeit, the team must bowl within 40 pins of the sum of their team’s averages. This is done by adding each bowler’s averages with handicap. If a team has an absentee, do not subtract 10 pins from their average for that night. Circle the absentee’s scores on the recap sheet.
Example:
Avg. Hdcp.
Bowler 1 129 63
Bowler 2 152 43
Bowler 3 185 13
Bowler 4 206 0
Total 672 119 = 791-40 pins = 751 (score to beat each game)
= 3 X 751 = 2253 ( series to beat)
Make all checks payable to Paradyne Youth Adult
There will be a 50/50 drawing each week. Tickets will be sold 2 for $1.00, with a minimum purchase of a $1.00. The winner will get 50% of what's collected that night and the league's prize fund the other 50%. The person with the winning number, must knock down at least one pin in their next frame in order to win the cash. Youth bowlers will not be able to participate in the 50/50. The Secretary/Treasurer will deposit the money each week and keep a weekly record. All losing tickets will be collected in a container with the printed name of the owner on the back. 50/50 money will be used to subsidize any shortage needed for the catering on fun night. The remaining cash will be used to purchase prizes which are drawn from the losing 50/50 tickets.
