The Coach: Puts in sick hours of game plan preparation. A teacher. Gets too much blame for a loss...
Frank Haege

Position: Assistant Head Coach & Offensive Coordinator
Age: 30
Hometown: Hopkins, MN
College: Univ of Wisconsin-Stoud & Bemidji State College
AFL Season: Sixth

Frank Haege comes to the Red Dogs by way of the now-defunct Minnesota Fighting Pike like Rickey Foggie, Alvin Ashley & Kevin Guy did in 1997. Haege coached the expansion Pike to the 5th best defense in the AFL. He has also coached with the Iowa Barnstormers and Milwaukee Mustangs. It was Haege's defensive unit that stopped Albany on a key drive with one minute left in the game to preserve a 66-59 play-off victory in Albany last year. Haege is shown in this photo
(left) about to smack Tim Marcum on the top of his head after the cry-baby Tampa Bay head coach threw a disgusting temper tantrum at the Meadowlands last season. Haege doesn't take any crap.

On February 22, 1999 Frank was promoted from Defensive Coordinator to Red Dogs' Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. It's likely that he'll bring his defensive fire to the offensive side of the ball as well. When Haege is coaching the Dogs', he gets so pumped up you'd swear he's going to jump into the mix and slam some opposing player into the turf. That's why
Frank Haege is the first coach selected to step into the Kennel Club Coaches Spotlight!
