On July 13th ESPN Classic Sports showed the Jan. 1, 1997 Rose Bowl (Arizona State vs. Ohio State) and Dimitrious Stanley looked fantastic! Arizona State DBs could not contain him resorting to holding especially on Ohio State’s game winning final drive.
I wonder why he is having so much difficulty making the transition to Arena Football? Can’t be the pressure. Playing New Years Day’s Grand Daddy of them all THE ROSE BOWL in front of 100,000 fans plus millions of viewers at home, to 5,000 at the Meadowlands and Fox Sports New York doesn’t seem it would be more difficult.
Adjusting to the smaller field, speed of the game, and being hit into the boards must be very difficult for Dimitrious. Perhaps the offensive scheme in place does not allow him to best use his talent and skills, or maybe it is an emotional letdown. From what I saw on Classic Sports letting Larry Ray Willis go because Dimitrious Stanley was joining the team should not of blown up in the Red Dogs faces. A young, fast, dominant offensive threat should be used to describe Dimtrious Stanley in a Red Dog uniform.
