KENNEL CLUB TO PRESENT FIRST ANNUAL RED DOG PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS DURING FINAL HOME GAME
MINE HILL, NJ (July 27, 1999) -- For several weeks now the Kennel Club has been conducting a fan poll that asked the New Jersey Red Dog faithful, "Who was the 1999 Red Dog Player Of The Year"? No criteria was set by the Kennel Club intentionally. "We wanted to let each fan define for themselves what Player Of The Year meant to them" said KC Prez Bruce DiBisceglie at today's press conference. "To one fan, stats may be the most important thing. To another, a player's spirit is what make him special. Still other fans said they voted for the player that spent the most time with the fans".

Originally, the Kennel Club had planned to present only one award, but when the balloting showed that out of the nine players earning votes, three stood out amongst the rest, the five organizers decide to make three awards instead of one.

So at this week's game versus the Nashville Kats, just prior to the pre-game introductions, the five "Kennel Club Guys" will proudly present the awards to the three players that were the best in the eyes of their fans.

Also, the Kennel Club will be presenting awards to the fans themselves which went above and beyond in making this season an extra-enjoyable one to remember. Fittingly, these fan awards will be presented during the traditional Kennel Club Tailgate Party that will start around 5pm this Friday and will go full tilt until 7pm. Usually, the Tailgate Parties go until 7:15, but due to the presentation of the Player Of The Year Awards inside the Arena, the Tailgate will have to conclude about fifteen minutes earlier than normal.
