Hapkido is a counter-attack techniques of self defense based on understanding the biological kinetics of the human body. Fast and slow movements of blood flow and breathing of the body are the foundation upon which 3,700 techniques were developed. As you start learning these techniques you will become aware of numerous vital points in the body, enabling you to quickly find them in your opponent and utilize his force of the attack to your advantage to counter-attack. By applying one decisive blow to his unguarded vital points you can immediately render him helplessly immobile.

The most important and basic advantage of Hapkido lies in the fact that its techniques enable you to knock the opponent down by making use of your opponent’s force while using only a minimum amount of your own force.
