Master Tom Sawyer The Instructor
Master Sawyer has been in the Martial Arts for 17 years. He earned his 1st Degree Black Belt at the age of 22, under the direction of Grand Master Dr. Jung-Hwan Park. During his continued study under Dr. Park; Master Sawyer was undefeated champion in both Forms and in Sparring in the 1982 Daytona Tae Kwon Do Championship, and the 1983 Jacksonville Florida State Championship.
In 1986, he joined the U.S. Air Force and moved to Anchorage, Alaska. While serving as an Avionics Specialist, he decided to use his Martial Art Knowledge. He wanted to Help others better themselves, both Mentally, and Physically. Master Sawyer began Teaching Children and Adults through the Chester Valley Community School in Anchorage. Students of all ages have Benefited from his Skills. They have gained, self-confidence, self -discipline, self-respect, and physical agility. They continue to earn new belts and win many awards under Master Sawyers Direction.
In July 1994, Master Sawyer was awarded his 4th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do & Hapkido by Grand Master J. Park. Presently, Master Sawyer is still teaching Children and Adults at Chester Valley Community School. He has his Own School (J.Park Tae Kwon Do & Hapkido Center)located in Tudor Center, Anchorage Alaska.
