Secretarial
Problem with minutes for Jan, Feb and March. MH made a recommendation that a February meeting should
not take place; MP said that this should be discussed at the next January
meeting. MP suggested the captain should be voted for at the AGM, no objections
received.
Captains Report
Excellent season, the best ever, if you exclude
the tour it was even better. At the start, players were injured. DC out for half
the season and AH for the end. We succeeded due to great team effort and kept
going to pull off some good victories. A number of batters scored over 200 runs
and the same for bowlers over 20 wickets. PG back to form scoring 156*. MH
achieved 4000 runs and 400 wickets after a slow start finishing leading wicket
taker. Congratulations to KG who took 13 catches in the season PH played really
well, much better bowler and batsman. Thanked DP for his efforts. JH was pleased
that we gave away fewer extras than the opposition. Anniversary match was
enjoyable; the present nomads took it seriously. RI out early to a leg side trap
and we enjoyed the meal afterwards. JH thanked everybody for their support over
two years. MP congratulated JH on his record-winning season with more close
games won. JH received a round of applause.
Fixtures and Pitches
Very good fixtures. Problems with Birch Coppice.
Bureau was good for us. Will try and get Great Barr Unity and Blythe
Bridge again. We have a contact for Rosliston. RJ has done a fantastic job. No
harm in playing Trentside.
Nets
HSS nets are awaiting a proposal. Indoor nets
from 09.01.03 until 03.04.03. The white sheet behind the bowlers arm is
permanently fixed. RJ asked about insurance. MH to look into. MP suggested a
coaching session at Hammerwich with bowling machine. DF said that people need to
be aware that if members turn up late their batting time will be limited.
Kit
RH gloves, scorebook, match balls and
clickers required. RJ asked about club kit availability and new members having
club caps. The kit is in storage and RJ stressed member availability for the kit
rota.

Since last year weve had a couple of dos. Ten
pin bowling, MHs birthday, tour, 20th anniversary meal and test
