LICHFIELD NOMADS CRICKET CLUB

Minutes of the meeting held at the GREYHOUND PUBLIC HOUSE, LICHFIELD on the 26^th November 1998.

Present: PG, PF, JH, KG, DC, PB, CR, MP, DF, RJ, and MH.

Apologies: AH, PW, SS.

The Chairman welcomed Darren Cartwright as Social Secretary and thanked Chris Rowland for his efforts over the years.

The club will have around 16 to 17 playing members this year. Chris Rowland will send a press release to the Mercury.

11 fees paid to date, PF, PG, DF, AH, PW, MH, MP, CR, JH, KG, have paid. The club has approximately thirteen hundred pounds in the bank.

Three hundred and forty one pounds already collected by ‘50’ Club. There are 6 club numbers. Again, this appears to be successful.

We will not be playing Abbotts Bromley this year due to their new league commitment. First fixture on 11^th April 1999 against Swynnerton CC. The August Bank Holiday fixture against Prestatyn CC is a distinct possibility. 9 home fixtures so far. Pitch has been re-laid. Entry into Mercury Cup to be discussed when details available.

Beer break 8.55 PM.

Nets will run from 7^th January 1999 to 1^st April 1999. Nomads on the Friary Grange Promotional video. Net fees two pounds per member. Outdoor nets to be discussed later.

Net balls required by February. Discussions on First Aid kit to be held at January meeting. The Chairman and Malcolm Pinfield to go through the kit and audit. Club gear to be priced up by the Secretary. It is the clubs intention to offload unwanted kit.

Xmas social last Friday before Xmas at 7.30 PM. List of activities will be circulated soon. Nomads day at the Test to be Lords v NZ.

Tour travel arrangements to be organised in New Year. Tour accommodation requirements deferred to the January meeting. So far, we have 10 for Saturday and 12 for Sunday. A tour meeting to take place on 14^th January 1999, after nets. Malcolm Pinfield has an idea for charity, which should be pursued in the future.
