LICHFIELD NOMADS CRICKET CLUB
Minutes of the meeting held at the FOUNTAIN PUBLIC HOUSE, LICFIELD on 25th March 1999.
Present: PG, DC, MP, RJ, AH, MH, CR, PF and DF. Apologies: KG and PB.
The Chairman thanked MH for chairing the last meeting and MP for taking the minutes. Matters arising: None
The Chairman stated that PW had retired from his duties as Treasurer. MP suggested that a letter be sent thanking him for his efforts. The Treasurers duties will now be taken on by DF, proposed by MP, seconded by CR. 13 subs now received. £68.40 in net money has been collected since Feb meeting, plus £39.00 tonight and 62p in interest received.
Fixtures with JTHS have been arranged for May and July, one possibly at Dunstall. The two home matches against Birch Coppice and Mechelen, to be played at Cannock, are still being organised. The Mercury Cup applications are available and our entry to be discussed at the players meeting.
One indoor net left. Payment for the indoor nets overall will be made at the last one. The idea of two nets was again brought up and will be discussed before next year. The video to be reviewed, and shown at someones house on a Saturday afternoon. Outdoor nets will be on 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th April 1999, only fielding will take place on 7th, which is before the players meeting.
Beer break 9.58pm.
The Club has a helmet that needs screws. Kit rota to be notified. AH to do April and May. Kit list for a match to be done by MH.
Good response to DCs questionnaire. Pre season social Friday 9th April 1999 7.45pm at the Scales. Swan with two necks will speak to us in the summer about annual dinner, which is in October. Looking into Test Match tickets for Edgbaston.
One confirmed car at present. PG booking 12 people Sat and Sun. MP to ring Belgian Tourist board for Bruges accommodation, to be discussed at players meeting. DC has received all money due to him.
MP expressed an opinion that players should be given a chance to play a bigger part. The trophy to be awarded for the winners of the annual match with Friary Grange will be named "The Stuart Ellison Trophy". MH suggested a Constitutional review should take place, a date to be fixed in the summer. 50 Club draw. Feb 1st-19, 2nd-23. Mar 1st-39, 2nd-22. Meeting closed 10.36pm.
