Norton 174 for 6 from 29 overs (Facer 63, Forster 2-30, Cartwright 2-39) Nomads Did not Bat. Match Abandoned Rain A stunning start saw Cartwright and Fearon both take wickets, caught behind by McGuinness, off the first ball of each over leaving Norton on 5 for 2. The new ball was seaming and bouncing and Cartwright picked up the third wicket with the score on 28, thanks to a super catch at second slip from Gardner, which he held on to at the second attempt. Norton's response was to attack, which they did to great effect as they peppered the short boundaries. Williams (29) and Facer put on 66 before Forster had Williams caught at long on by Greaves. Facer went on to make 50 amidst jubilation from the home support. L. Sharif then put on 51 with Facer before he was finally bowled by Forster for 63. McNeil then played a wide long hop from Rowland straight to Forster. L. Sharif and Thomas were starting to build another stand when the rain came and after an early tea the match was abandoned.Rowland's 300th victim was celebrated in traditional style with Jugs of beer in the Queen's Head, Lichfield. Cartwright 6-0-39-2, Fearon 6-1-33-1, Heslington 5-0-40-0, Forster 8-0-30-2, Rowland 4-0-21-1 |
