Nomads start with a win 

In the opening game of the 2004 season, the Nomads won away at Swynnerton by 21 runs. Mark Heslington top scored with 70 not out, including three sixes.

Heslington and Gardner put on a century stand to build the foundation of the innings before Gardner departed for 45 trying to increase the pace.

Hussein acquired a golden duck courtesy of Osgathorpe who clean bowled him. Osgathorpe finished with Swynnerton's best figures of 3-25.

Moss started brightly and scored 15 quickly including a 6 before being stumped. Debutant Ted Osborn made two, then Pinfield scored 13 out of an unbroken fifth wicket stand of 21 with Heslington, who carried his bat.

Higginson opened the bowling and Hoddy soon bowled Fox without troubling the scorers. Hoddy also had Cheadle (J) caught and Moss had opener Cheadle (N) lbw. Price went for a duck bowled by Moss. Wallis provided the most meaningful innings of 49 before he was caught behind by Gardner off the bowling of Coleman. Bromage (17) and Palmer (15) both got in before getting out to Higginson and Osborne respectively. Weir bowled a cameo over at the end and picked up an unlikely lbw, his first ever wicket.
