Harborne 2nds
v Lichfield Nomads
The Nomads put up a spirited reply to a massive
278 for 4 total, to force a draw against a strong Harborne outfit. Heslington bagged the first wicket of the season bowling Jeffrey for 24, with the score on 51. Milne and Crabb piled on a partnership worth 167 before Milne retired with a century. Crabb also reached his century and retired with 101 when the score was 241 and then Blackburn had McKay caught by Forster for 8. Nomads set their stall out to survive and bat for the draw. Accurate bowling meant that there were no easy runs but Gardner 44 and Moss 59 not out, provided solid resistance. Gardner ran himself out and Moss batted for 35 overs to reach his fifty, twenty of his runs coming off the last two overs when the game was safe.
