Strat-O-Matic Hockey League's (WSHL) archives. The primary reason for this site is to archive events in the WSHL. Here you will find the league's newsletters archived by year. Unfortunately, the newsletter wasn't published for the league's first season when there was only one league and I wasn't a member. Beginning in 2003-04, the WSHL added a second 14-team league to the established World League, which expanded from 12 to 14 teams. The new league was named the North American League. Despite having two leagues, there is only one newsletter that covers both leagues. Volume #1 begins in 2003-04. Volume #2 begins at the end of August 2004. When the NAL was formed, the Archive Administrator (me) took it upon himself to update easily read text files on the draft. It turned out that the lists that were maintained worked out very well for the live drafts that the league held. The past results from each season can be seen and when it comes time for the next draft (let's hope the NHL starts play soon), updated draft files will be posted for future seasons. In addition to the newsletter, this will be the home for the draft files and box scores for the North American League. The box scores for the NAL's first season are unfortunately incomplete. If and when a completed SOMH league file for the 2003-04 season is found, it will also be posted. Prior to the 2004-05 season, the NAL had a four-team tournament. The results can be seen by following the link. The final link section goes to individual team sites that are run by WSHL members. Currently only the Seattle Tsunami and Red Deer Avros have published team sites. If other managers bring team sites on-line, they'll get linked. There is an Excel file for the NAL that contains NHL stats and SOMH ratings. It can be downloaded by pressing the following link NAL Excel File (updated through end of draft). The text files for the 2004 draft are also updated through the end of the draft. I'm going to post the box scores from each NAL block here. Click the block link and you'll get a zip file will all the box scores, plus any commentary. Beats the hell out of searching the NAL yahoo site since there is no pattern to the subject headings. |
