His last nine seasons were in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens (1917-1926).
Was a member of the first Stanley Cup Team with the Montreal Canadiens (1915-1916)
Led the NHL with the lowest GAA in 3 seasons.
Won his second Stanley Cup in 1923-24 with the the Habs.
Finished his NHL career with 191 games played, 105 wins, 13 Shutouts and a GAA of 3.28.
Three former owners of the Canadiens presented the Vezina Trophy to the NHL in 1926-27.
The Trophy was in memory of Georges, who collapsed during a game on Nov 28, 1925.
Georges never played another NHL game and died of tuberculosis a few months later.
The Vezina Trophy was awarded to the goalie(s) who allowed the fewest goals in a season.
In 1981-82 the criteria was changed; the Vezina is now awarded to the goalie judged to
be best in the league at his position.
Georges was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1945.
