My New Dakota

The new amazing AutoXing Dakota. I don't seem to have any normal pictures of it yet, just the AutoX trim.

My Dakota

Now that I have a real job I have allowed myself the luxury of a new vehicle. And what better luxury vehicle than a fire breathing, corner hugging, ass hauling pick-up. I found this gem at the very end of the dealer with a sold sign on it. After waving a little cash I was able to purchase the last 4.7L V8 Sport Plus non-ugly color Dakota in orange county for a song.

Below is the most current side shot of my Dakota. No it's not an RT, but it sure looks like one now. The inset is me AutoXing.

I've added a few new pics in the mods section. Also I've finally got a few photos of me autoXing.

Here's a new gallery I set up for all the pics of my Dakota.

Despite getting a good price and a decent sales men here's a good reason why not to buy from Barwick. This is getting to be an old story, but still worth reading.

I've finally got my computer running and a couple of pictures developed. So you'll no longer have to use your imagination with the catalog picture I had here. Link to catalog RT picture(27K)

Here's a link to my window sticker (120K). My Dakota is a black V8 4.7L Auto Sport Plus, club cab. I actually lucked out and found one on the lot with exactly what I wanted including the hard to find Limited Slip Differential and Bucket Seats. The only thing it was missing was a rear sliding window, but I can get that installed later.

Here's a front end shot and a shot of the current engine bay. The lenses have been changed out to the clear ones and I added the silver grill as shown. I have before and after shots in my mods page.

Gas mileage isn't so bad for a V8. In my first two tanks I'm pulling about 17mpg. Keep in mind that was showing off the power to all my friends. Now that I have a few mile in I'm getting an average of 18 to 19mpg. Most of my driving is about 10 mile jots. I haven't gotten the chance to do a long slow distance drive yet.

As I can afford it I'm doing some street truck modifications to it. As of now I've had the truck for four months. I've changed some of the appearance, air flow devices, wheels and others. Now that things are actually starting to change, for details check out my mods page, before and after pictures are just starting to appear here.
