Here it is, boys and girls! The first announced schedule for 1999's Florida Duathlon Series! Mario's team at Champion Sports Productions had flyers at the 10K Run Against Drugs in mid-January. It looks like a good set of races, all in South Florida. The farthest north is at Fort Pierce (May 9) and one is on the Gulf Coast at Naples (August 8).

All races will be 2m R, 10m B, 2m R.

Feb. 21. Homestead at the Homestead Sports Complex (This was a great race with picture perfect weather but not a large enough entry. Perhaps a little early for some of you, huh?

Apr. 11. South Broward

May. 9. Fort Pierce

Jun. 20. North Miami Beach

Jul. 4. Sunrise

Aug. 8. Naples

Sep. 12. Boca Raton

Oct. 3. Coral Springs

Call Mario's new assistant, Elizabeth Thomas (305-655-0627), early and ask for an entry form. Pay in advance and save a lot. If you pay for all eight races at one time, you'll save the equivalent of two entry fees. That's worth doing!

Early in 1999 there are few (only one) duathlons yet announced other than this Florida Duathlon Series. Even if this were not a good race series we would need to support it to show, by number of entries, that other promoters should stage duathlon races.

So, go out and run these races!!!
