    In the class C race at the NYSPHSAA cross-country championships on Saturday the thirteenth of November the Allegany/Limestone girls represented section six with a third place finish.  They were led by section six champion sophomore Tammy Putt who has been their top runner all season.  She finished nineteenth overall with a time of 21:03.4.  Senior Mollie Metz from Alden, however,  took revenge on Putt for sectionals by taking eleventh to be the top section six finisher as an individual in 20:40.1.  Her teammate, freshman Karen Kozub, was the next runner from section six to cross the line taking seventeenth in 21:02.5.  After Putt came Kristyn Fluent, a junior from A/L, in 38th with a time of 21:41.6.  Section VI was the third place section in class C.  The winning team was Pearl River with 37 points to A/L's 102.  Courtney O'Keefe of Pearl River was the overall winner in 20:01.1.  Pearl River also had the second place finisher, freshman Vanessa McKay, with a 20:02.7.  The rest of the top five were junior Jackie Kosakowski (20:04.9) from Sauquoit Valley in third, senior Meridith Goodreau (20:10.5) from Potsdam in fourth, and sophomore Lia Cross (21:12.2) of Skaneateles in fifth.
     In Class B Lisa Capello was the star for Starpoint (sorry about the bad pun) as she finished fifth overall in 19:22.3 to lead them to fifth as a team.  Sophomore Angela Kudla was the next finisher from Starpoint and section six in 24th with a time of 20:36.2.  Right on her heels was sophomore Lindon Wilcox of Albion in 25th only three tenths of a second behind.  Section VI was sixth place in class B.  The winning team was Honeoy Falls Lima with 65 points.  The top three finishers were seniors Danielle Jelley (18:59.1) for Clarke in first, Caitlin Hickin (19:01.9) of Queensbury in second, and Jillian Mastroianni (19:09.9) from Sayville in third.  The only sophomore in class B to crack the top five was Tracey Brauksieck (19:18.3) for Homer in fourth.
     In class A Clarence stole the show for section VI by taking third.  They were led by senior Lindsey Jochum's 28th place finish in 20:33.8.  The top individual finisher from section six was junior Jennifer Boerner who placed 25th with a time of 20:25.7.  Freshman Jill Folckemer of Clarence was next for section six in 38th with a 20:58.3.  Section VI was the eighth place section in class A.  The team champion in Class A was Colonie with only 23 points.  The battle for second place came down to a single point though, as Bayshore edged Clarence 117 to 118.  Sophomore Laurel Burdick of Fayetteville-Manlius was the individual champion with a time of 18:58.5.  She was followed by senior Melissa Stellato (19:24.9) for Kingston in second, junior Danielle Coon (19:32.5) from Saratoga in third, junior Kate Twarog (19:38.0) of Colonie in fourth, and junior Michelle Wale (19:42.6) for Pine Bush in fifth.
     In class D it was sophomore Danielle Greene of Randolph taking the top place from section six in 31st with a time of  21:53.0.  Senior Anna Gauger (22:43.9) from Frewsburg was the next runner from section VI to cross the line in 55th.  The girls from Barker were eighth led by sophomore Emily Johnson (23:28.6) in 69th and section VI was also eighth.  The winning team in class D was Bronxville with help from a second place finish by freshman Catha Mullen in 20:08.4.  The individual winner was sophomore Sarah Hildebrand of H-A-C in 19:42.6.  Rounding out the top five were senior Christine Campbell (20:11.6) for Waterville in third, 8th grader Heather Iatauro (20:17.7) of Tri-Valley in fourth, and senior Amanda Laytham (20:41.3) from Unatego in fifth.
