Juventus of Italy are one of the best,
if not the best football teams in the world. Last season they were one
match away from recording an unprecedented treble, and this season they
are already in the european cup final and are second in the italian serie
A league.
The game will mainly be remembered for the superb opening goal by ravanelli
who broke through Ajax's defence and scored from an impossible angle.
It will also be remembered, however, for the last game that Gianluca
Vialli played for Juventus as he has now moved to Chelsea, and I wish him all
the best.
Juventus have finally put the Hillsborough disatster of 1985 (when they last won
the European Cup) by beating Ajax Amsterdam 4 -2 on penalties, after a 1-1 draw. Of
the two teams Juventus were by far the best team on the night and created the most
chances, and to be fair should have won the game in regular time.
Alessandro DelPiero is one of the
best players in the world and is still only 21 years of age !

Ravanelli has risen from the lower leagues of italian football to become
italy's number one striker.
Unlike many other
football teams who rely on a few players, the whole of the Juventus team
are internationals and work tirelessly for each other in every match they
play.
