Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Have you ever met Scott Erickson?
A:  No, but I have spoken to Scott on the phone thanks to 98 Rock.  I was nearly speechless, needless to say.

Q:  Have you ever seen Erickson pitch in person?
A:  Yes, in April 1996 at Jacobs' Field he and Mike Mussina pitched back-to-back nights and I attende both games.  Unfortunately, both of them pitched rather poorly and lost.

Q:  Where did you get the idea to do a website like this?
A:  One of the friends I met on the Internet had a website devoted to one of her favorite players, so I figured, why not try one of my own?  Especially since I could never find any interesting home pages about Scott on the web!  It's lonely being an Orioles fan in Cleveland, so I wanted to meet some fellow fans on the Internet, and since I've been collecting stuff about Scott and Mike for a couple of years now (Scott since '91 and Mike since '93), I figured, why not try to design a web site (or two)?

Q:  Does Scott know about your web page?
A:  Thanks to 98 Rock, Scott does know about my web page.

Q:  Do the Orioles help you out with your site?
A:  No, they probably don't know that it exists. This page is in no way affliated with the Baltimore Orioles. All the material on this site are either from my personal collection or given to me by the generous people who have volunteered their pictures/information/articles to this web site.

Q: Where do you get all your information?
A: Various media sources I've read or heard, as well as fans from Baltimore who can give me the latest scoop.

Q:  Where can I contact Scott?
A:  Write to him in care of the Baltimore Orioles:

333 W. Camden St.
Baltimore, MD 21201

Or contact them at bigleaguers.com:

http://players.bigleaguers.com/Scott_Erickson.html

Q:  Is there a place on your site where we can ask Scott questions?
A:  Unfortunately, not at this point.  Maybe someday . . .

Q:  Are you from Maryland?
A:  Nope, I live in Westlake, Ohio, twenty minutes west of Cleveland where a bunch of the Cleveland Indians' players live.  I'm going to school at Caltech in Pasadena, California.

Q:  If you're from Cleveland, how come  you're not an Indians' fan?
A:  Two reasons:  Scott Erickson and Mike Mussina. :-)

Q:  What kind of memorabilia do you have of Scott?
A:  Mostly baseball cards.  Forty-seven cards of Scott (it is SO hard to find Erickson stuff around here).  I also have a poster of Scott from his Twins days, an autographed picture and signed baseball card of him.

Q:  How did you get to like players who have never played in your hometown?
A:  I saw Scott pitch on national TV in the 1991 postseason and thought he was awesome.  I first noticed Mike Mussina on ESPN when he was involved in the noted 1993 Seattle brawl and went "Hello!"  As for some of my other faves:  Steve Avery I saw on TBS of course as well as the 1991 postseason, Chuck Knoblauch because I started paying bigtime attention to the Twins when I saw Scott, some of the other guys because they did pretty well and looked awfully good when I first saw them on local or national TV!

Q:  Why isn't Brady Anderson or fill_in_name_here on your hot guys list?
A:  Well, we all have different tastes, for one thing!  And some of the players I've noticed lately haven't been put on the cute guys list yet, look for updates.
