Melody and Carol
This was written in 1998, before we really knew what was going on!
I have two new additions to my family, AFTER the twins!! For a little while, ayway....
I've known Melody since I've moved here. Her sister I really never paid too much attention to Carol, she's 11 years old. Melody is a year older than me.
Yes, Melody has always had parents, no, they didn't die. Melody's parents used to be real cool, even she admits that.
(By the way, I DO have her permission to write this, she's even
watching me right now, typing it up)
In June of 1998, Mel's house burnt down.
As a result, it seems, her mother and "current step father" suddenly turned abusive. It was really weird for me. About 3 weeks afterwards, I
felt like there was something awful with Melody and Carol. I mean, they'd never really gotten along before the whole fire incident, and I was thrilled that they were together more often now and they were really getting along, but they were acting SO STRANGE! I told Daddy, but he just laughed, saying that Melody's
behavior that day and through the last month must got me wacked and that they were just having to adjust. I put it out of
my mind as best I could, but Melody didn't even come to school when it began that year.
Daddy didn't like that, Friday, he went to the Pixies' new home. He didn't like
what was going on there, either. Melody's parents seemed to be hiding something. They'd said that Melody and Carol had gone to visit relatives. It was unlikly, but he couldn't do anything about it. It wasn't until Sunday afternoon when we
got back from church that Melody had manage to call us up and leave a really
desperate sounding message on the answeringmachine. Daddy took this to the police station,
and before I knew what was happening, Daddy and mom was taking legal action.
In the end, Mel and Carol's parents had to go to jail. Melody and Carol stayed with our family for a few months afterwards. Here's something I said about it in my diarry
At the beginning of the next year, Mel and Carol were fostered at Neddy's house until Carol was adopted by some other family in town. Neddy's grandparents had to come live with his family too, though and so Melody came to live with us at the beginning of 2002.
I wanted to put a picture up I found that looks almost just like Melody and, since
she's obsessed with fairies, it makes it way awesome!
*smiles* Looks a lot like her.
