Music in CD Player: Before These Crowded Streets, Dave
Matthews Band (told ya I was becoming a big fan again!)
Mood: congested
I don't know how, but I lost access to all those cool smilies...oh well. I'll use these from the thought board. Clever, eh? Besides, I just love 'em.
By the way -- happy very late New Year! Also -- I have a cell phone! The numero is...(315) 867-4270. Call me!
I know it's been awhile -- I'm kind of ashamed that I only wrote two slices for December -- yes, I have been slacking, and I'm sorry. And now that it's already halfway through this month, I begin to realize how much I really have been slacking!
College applications are all in. It's no longer in my hands... Hopefully by March I'll know if Syracuse accepted me and is going to offer me a good deal in financial aid to go there. Otherwise...hmm.
In other news...I got a job! Yes, I'm one of two Americans working at the Foo Chow Chinese restaurant in Little Falls. It's actually not that bad -- Fri. thru Sat. evenings from 5-7, sometimes 8 if it's busy. Sometimes I'll have to work Thursdays, if Shamariah (the other American) can't make it. She's got two jobs, y'know. In any case, it's great for a first job -- good hours, pretty good pay. I made a deal with my parents that, now that I have a job, I will be able to pay the agreed upon half of my driving insurance. I should really get off my bum and get my license...it's about time.
The Spring musical will soon be in full swing! This year's show -- Mame! I'm hoping to get the part of Mame, actually. I mean, it's my senior year...I'm really hoping for it. I'm just hoping I won't go nuts like I always do when my schedule starts to become filled with play practices. We're going to have to crunch extra hard this time because the show's in March this year. Normally we have about three months' worth of practice before a show -- now we only have two, so it'll be double the work in one third the amount of time. Here goes nothing! Tryouts are next week, I think. Wish me luck! I'll keep you updated.
I'm hoping that I'll be alright for auditions -- I'm super congested, probably due to the terrible seasonal allergies I get all the time. It sucks so bad -- I'm sick of it...literally. I was takiing this spray stuff that worked really well to unclog my sinuses, but you can only take it for 3 days or it actually ends up making you worse off than better. A couple weeks ago I had a fever and stuffy nose, and then about a week ago I was alright for 5 or so days, and then yesterday it just started up again. Last night I couldn't sleep, and when I woke up for school this morning, I was miserable, so I decided, however reluctantly, not to go to school. I also went to the doctor today, who prescribed me some decongesting pills (which I end up getting every year -- damn allergies! ) and some nasal spray. Hopefully I should clear up in a couple of days...
My parents are going away to NYC for Friday and Saturday, and my brother will be at my grandparents' skiing...'nuff said.

Music in CD Player: none (although it'll be another 6 hrs. or so
until The Nurse Who Loved Me by A Perfect Circle (as
requested by Chris) is done downloading!)
Mood: calm, reserved
Well, well, well. A lot's happened in a matter of days. My parents are back from their trip. As a souvenir, they bought me a copy of Coldplay's new live CD/DVD. It's a hell of a show. It was definitely welcomed into my collection.
Friday we had a snow day instead of the previously planned-on 1/2 day due to a Superintendant's Conference. Half the Mohawk Valley's schools were shut down as well, which was cool, because that meant Mohawk didn't have school either...Still, I went to work that evening. It was packed at the restaurant -- it was the first night I had to work the full 3 hours without getting sent home early. So I called Chris and he came over and we chilled to stand-up on Comedy Central. A quite interesting experience...nevermind.
I've had to work quite a bit this week. Friday was a super busy night -- the busiest I'd ever seen (then again, it was only my 3rd day of work!). I worked the whole 3 hours instead of getting let off an hour early like any other night. Tonight was the exact opposite -- we only had about 3 parties come in and about 3 calls and 2 takeouts. A veeeeery slow night. But in any case, I'm supposed to go in tomorrow afternoon for the lunch shift. I just started working there and already they want me three nights a week, hehe! Hey, it's good money, easy work and easy hours.
I saw this little article in the paper today about a Potsdam Masters' Student who made her own album on her personal computer. I thought to myself, Hey, I do the same thing! If only I can get enough originals of CD quality, then I can make my own album too!...Expect one in a matter of time...
