Arizona's State Bird
is the Cactus Wren.
- As its name implies, it frequently nests on a cactus, often the Saguaro.
- This bird is tiny, only 6.5 to 8 inches from head to tail.
- A wily bird, the Cactus Wren builds many nests, but only lives in one of them!
- The Cactus Wren became the state bird in 1973.
