Mickey Mouse was born in 1928 by a gentleman named Walt Disney. Disney created the mouse after he lost his first hit character, "Oswald the Rabbit." Mickey's original name was "Mortimer," but that changed after Disney's wife proposed "Mickey," and so it stood. That is how Mickey Mouse came about.
