Favorite Cookie Recipes
~Date Balls~
1 cup sugar
1 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup margarine
1 egg
Mix together and cook for 10 minutes, stir often. Remove from heat, add 2 cups rice krispies cereal, 1/2 cup chopped nuts and 1 tsp. vanilla. Form into balls-roll into powdered sugar.
~Peanut Blossoms~
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening or margarine
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
2 TBS. milk
Mix all ingredients. Form into balls, roll in sugar. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes. Press chocolate kiss onto top while still warm.
~Toffee Bars~
2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup melted margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix well, bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Spread about 1 cup of chocolate chips on top, sprinkle with nuts, place in oven a few minutes to melt chocolate chips.
~Sugar Cookies~
1 1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 TBS. vanilla
2 TBS. milk
4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Stir in milk and dry ingredients. Chill dough at least one hour. Roll onto floured surface 1/4 inch thick. Cut and bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 350. Decorate when cooled.
~Puppy Chow~
1 stick margarine
1 cup peanut butter
1(12 oz.) package chocolate chips
1 box Crispix cereal
1 lb. box powdered sugar
Melt, margarine, peanut butter and chocolate chips. Empty Crispix into large bowl, pour melted mixture over. Mix until well coated. Put powdered sugar in large sack, pour in cereal mixture. Close tight and shake. For fun serve in a large dog dish.
