My name is Ricky Chamness. I am a D.A.R.E. instructor with the Mt. Pleasant I.S.D. Police Dept. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. D.A.R.E. is important to teach to kids,because some of them never have any one else to tell them. D.A.R.E. instructors are certified Peace Officers with a desire to help kids. I attended D.A.R.E. officer training in Dec 1995 in Austin, Tx. D.A.R.E. is a program that teaches kids to say no to drugs and violence. When D.A.R.E. helps one kid say no, then it's worth the effort. Be sure and visit D.A.R.E. America page. The link is at the bottom of this page. In 2008, I Finished The Texas Education Region 13 Career Technical Teacher's certification. I have started teaching Criminal Justice to students at Mount Pleasant High School. We also participate in SKILLS. I will take Hayden and Tyrone to a contest in Waco. I love my job!!!!!!

It is really important for D.A.R.E. to work to receive alot of support. From parents, police departments, teachers, and schools. I ask all parents to talk to their kids about drugs, tell them what could happen the first time some one tries them. And watch out what kind of music they listen to. Specifically gothic stuff. It deals with Satanic and violent sutff. Marilyn Madsen is a very STRANGE person.

And all of my D.A.R.E. kids, about 1,800. Singing in the choir at church, South Jefferson Baptist under direction of the best Music Director ever, Bro Allen Curry. Mrs. Rhonda is pretty awesome too!! Complete with the coolest preacher. Bro Tommy Oglesby. If you want to come visit, we're at 1710 South Jefferson St. Mount Pleasant, Tx. Sunday School starts @ 9:30 Church service starts @ 10:30.A.M. I have started teaching Criminal Justice @ Mt. Pleasant High School. The more I teach the more I'm enjoying it. So, yeah, I love my students. (Most of them)
