HOW PARENTS CAN HELP!
(every little thing makes such a big difference)
1. Join Our Parent Committee: One of the best ways you can help is by participating on this committee run by and consisting of parents only. Let your voice be heard! This committee is often asked to make decisions on behalf of the parents. If you really want to influence how and what we do, this is where you should be. Our Parent Committee Rep is Lisa Smith. Contact her at 383-3000.
2. Help at meetings: Update books, set up crafts, teach a song, craft or game, talk about what you do, what country you come from, someone interesting you have known, your hobbies & interests, serve snack, help clean up, etc. etc.
3. Trips: Offer to drive Brownies to destinations, help with supervising on trips, make phone calls to arrange etc.
4. Parties: Help at parties, or help organize them. For instance our parents have put on our banquets for the last three years. The leaders haven't had to do anything but show up. How wonderful for your volunteer leaders! It's a great way to show appreciation!
5. Fundraising: Where would we be without the wonderful help we receive from our parents during cookie campaigns. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
6. Telephoning: Reminder calls, inquiries, you name it, we can always use your help!
7. Badge Testing: It makes it so much easier for us when you offer to test the girls.
8. At Home: Preparing craft kits, making calls, or just helping your Brownie with something she missed when she was absent!
9. Parent Survey Every year we send home a survey to find out what parents are thinking. Please rememeber to fill it out and return to us. Your comments really do make a difference!
10. BE A LEADER! We'd love to have you....just ask!
