TRIPS & CAMPS

DO BROWNIES GO ON TRIPS/CAMPS?: Yes! They are a fun way to take the Brownie Adventure further. We offer a variety of trips and camps so that there is sure to be something that interests everyone. Trips are an extra and not mandatory, although we certainly encourage girls to participate in at least one or two per year. Often trips are only possible if we have enough parent volunteer drivers or helpers. Occasionally we do rent a bus to take us somewhere. Often trips and camps count towards Window and Outlook work.

WHAT IF SHE CAN’T GO ON THE TRIP/CAMP? We recognize that Brownies can’t go on all trips and that some children will not be able to attend any due to other activities and or commitments. If your child can't go, but has or will be soon doing something similar to what we are planning, be sure to let us know . We will then credit her for the experience and record in her program book and record.

HOW MUCH DO THEY COST? We try to keep cost of trips as low as possible. If you are unable to pay all of the cost we encourage you to pay for what you can and we will subsidize the rest. No child will be turned away from a trip experience due to inability to pay. However, All trip permission forms, money or requests for subsidy must be brought in by the due date. Please place in an envelope with your Brownie's name printed on the outside, in our Brownie Box. (We can not give change at meetings). A receipt will be placed in your mail slot, some time during the meeting and can be picked up afterwards. AS MANY TRIPS/CAMPS ETC. ONLY ALLOW FOR LIMITED NUMBERS TO ATTEND IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO HAND IN BY DUE DATE. If not, your child likely won't be able to go.

WHERE DO YOU GO? Our group loves to go on many adventures. Past trips have included, Mountsburg, Crawford Lake, Planetarium, Battlefield House, SPCA and many, many more.

WHAT ABOUT OVERNIGHTS? Yes, your daughter will have an oportunity to attend sleepovers & camps.

WHAT SHOULD SHE WEAR?

That depends on the trip or camp! See newsletters or calendars for more information. We do try to wear our uniform whenever possible (excluding camp) so others in the community can recognize us and see all the fun & adventure we have in Brownies, but sometimes it isn't practical. If not, then we try to wear our tie and sometimes camp hat.

Although not part of the uniform, we do encourage Brownies to have a camp hat.If you can’t purchase the uniform camp hat please make sure she has a wide brimmed (not cap) hat for our day time outings/camps etc., as this is a regulation we must follow.

We usually go on a camp in the fall and spring and have lots of fun while we're there! Watch this year's calendars for info.
